OK- I really don't know where Sawyer gets these stories and themes- it's like he's channeling an old soul and someone else's life. Another powerful original song. He had some really nice guitar work on the break when he played this at home, but like I said, nerves were getting to him and he ended up just sticking to the basic rhythm for this performance. Still lovely. He had one audience member referring to him as "Young Bob Dylan" for the night :) We still don't have a title- what phrase sticks out for you? UPDATE- as you can see the song now has a title. Thanks to David Smythe for the suggestion!
Lyrics:
You wake up
You go back to sleep
Look out the window
Wind blowing through the trees
You get out of bed
You go downstairs
Someone's screaming
Screaming "Where have you been?"
Screaming "Where have you been?"
Screaming "Where have you been?"
I want to know
What's been going on
But I don't care
What you've been doing
Just want you home
Where you belong
Cause I've been thinking
Seems like every night I've been alone
Seems like every night I've been alone
Seems like every night I've been alone
Window's shaking
Needs to be fixed
Don't feel like working
Don't wanna be doing everything round here
Not that I am
Not that I am
Not that I am
You keep leaving
Leaving me a note
Don't wanna read it
I know what it's pointing out
Cause you've been drifting
Drifting away
From my heart
From my heart
From my heart
You wake up
You go back to sleep
Look out the window
Winds blowing through the trees
You get out of bed
You go downstairs
Someone's screaming
Screaming "Where have you been?"
Screaming "Where have you been?"
Screaming "Where have you been?"
